After we shared the Moroccan style in a lobby last weekend in Weekend Project, now we reveal inside the beauty salon.
Midweek Project on House of Smichi this week still belongs to Moroccan style in Beauty Salon & Spa. In the same design concept with last Weekend Project, the beauty salon is designed to be simple, clean, and still looks beautiful and luxurious.
In the dominant colors of blue and white, the beauty salon aims to make the guests feel so comfortable and relax while the stylist do their job to make them beautiful.
We also use frameless mirrors to simplify the shape as we applied the modern touch in the design.
The style is still be continued soon. Stay tuned! Hail to Moroccan style! :)

Weekend Project: Moroccan Style into A Beauty Salon & Spa Part 1
Greetings!
Welcome to a new post of Weekend Project!
What is this post about?
Weekend Project is all about House of Smichi's original works in interior design that we've finally decided to share with all of you. Every twice a week, we create fresh ideas and inspirations in interior design in every style. From east to west, from ethnic to modern. We're gonna explore all the things as our inspirations.
Well, basically we will post our portfolios on Wednesday (midweek) and Sunday (weekend).
Why in twice a week?
Because sometimes once is not enough to apply all those beautiful things into one design. So, we're gonna separated the works into two parts in the same style.
What's the purpose of this post?
Just. To. Have. FUN! As we sharpen our skill to be better everyday and express the feelings about something good.
This week we have a project in Moroccan style for beauty salon and spa. In this part 1, we finished the lobby first before goes into the main area. Mostly, Moroccan style home is designed to be comfort and clean style with colorful cushions. But a little bit touch of modern can simplify the colors.
We choose the cool colors as we represent a fresh and calm ambiance. the aim is that everyone that come here can feel relax and serene as we create soft lighting in some spots. The water and plants are designed to balance the harmony inside the room as to welcome the guests with something fresh and natural.
Since it's a small area, we use mirrors and shiny materials in most of the area of the room. Mirrors can make a small room looks bigger.
That's all for part 1 for Moroccan Style Beauty Salon & Spa. We'll see you again in part 2 this Wednesday only on Midweek Project. New project will be shared next weekend as in Weekend Project.
And don't forget to stay tuned into our daily post on Instagram and the Blog. And for more information and art & design consultation, you can contact sherly@houseofsmichi.com.
We'll see you around soon!
Remember.

Color Therapy: GOLD
Gold is something worth and priceless. It's a symbol of luxury and richness. More gold more people will see you.
The gold details used in Baroque and Renaissance era. Where the upper class people use the rich color to show their social status and the splendor of the things they have.
Gold in fashion industry is about glory, majestic, and greatness.
In interior design, you can find the gold color match with black. Black can muffle the shining gold.
Don't be afraid to put gold in your front door. Looks really gorgeous!
That's all from us today! And see you next week with another colors attack.
Don't forget!

Color Therapy: BLACK
Black is dark. Black is evil. Black represents the death. But black is neutral. It fits to any colors, like red, white, and even gold.
For some people, black color around them is making a depressed feeling. But in the other side, there are people say that black is the new sexy. But it looks very nice when you match the color with white or even a wooden pattern.
But in fashion industry, black can make your body thinner. Black is the new sexy and elegant. But too much black can make you Gothic.
Don't be afraid if you have something on your mind like paint your house's exterior in black, a whole black or just a part of it. You have a great taste and elegant. Play it bold! ;)
Sometimes you can find black in nature. Horses, cats, parrots, and even berries that later become a famous brand of a cell-phone industry.
You can combine all the colors you love with black. Because black is neutral and fits with every color. Just remember the proportions of each color. You can make dark or black as the accent.
There's a quotes about black:
That's all for black color inspiration. We'll see you in another post of Color Therapy! Maybe nest is your favorite color we write. :)

That Apartment: Matthew Eikelberger's Wonderland
Have a quirky style? Why don't you applied your wild ideas in your house. This time, we're talking about an apartment space in Los Angeles, California (source: Apartment Therapy).
Imagine your ideas are going wild, rooms are in green and turquoise, like you're in a Alice in Wonderland world. The ambiance is like in a forest full of details and figures.
The rooms are in open-plan so you can still connected to each room easily. Though the rooms are in different shades of green, you can let the natural light in to your room to make the ambiance more real.
Eager for more inspirations for your house? Stay tune to see another update of our blog! :)

Apartment Therapy Survey:
My Style: My style has often been described as Alice in Wonder/Hoarder land, decadent grandma, or Golden Girl on acid. I certainly subscribe to the philosophy that More is More.
Inspiration: Marie Antoinette meets Lord of the Rings. Opulent, with a strong woodland influence.
Favorite Element: My favorite element, without a doubt, is the history that lives on in my home. So many things in my apartment were passed down to me from my grandmother, so they are not only family heirlooms, but they carry a great amount of memories and history with them. For instance, the chandeliers, which originated in Italy, were my grandmother's from the 60's, and the accent table in the living room went through the San Francisco earthquake during the 1900's.
Biggest Challenge: My biggest challenge has been trying to make my seemingly necessary impulse purchases fit into my very limited space.
What Friends Say: "Wow! You are really easy to shop for" and "your tchotchke-'itis' is certainly terminal."
Biggest Embarrassment: My biggest embarrassment will be, if I am still alive after the big earthquake hits, revealing to my insurance representative the sum that I wish to be reimbursed for the amount of money I have spent on knick-knacks.
Proudest DIY: I know it sounds lackluster but I guess I would say that I was ambitious enough to paint half of the place myself, with the help of my friend Athena. Although I am afraid of heights, so I had to hire painters to paint the stair area.
Biggest Indulgence: Well, seeing how I cannot deal with blank wall space, my biggest indulgence most definitely has been custom framing. I have gone to great lengths to fill the walls of my apartment.
Best Advice: Always find some way to include a sense of humor in your decor aesthetic, and create a space that gives you some sense of escapism and peace. It's a scary world out there.
Dream Sources: The Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berg estate sale.

Color Therapy: WHITE
"I will go down with this ship.
And I won't put my hands up and surrender.
There will be no white flag above my door.
I'm in love and always will be."
Dido - White Flag
White means surrender and neutral. It is a sign of peace and innocence. And as the opposites of black, white is related to honesty, perfection, and the good one.
You see the snow and the milk is white. White is produced from the reflection, transmission, or emission of all visible light.
When you see a nature in white, it describes the pureness and untouchable. A lily in white and a land full of snow, and even the clouds are white.
Sometimes, in fashion industry, white also means elegant and cold. The lady with white dress or if you watch The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, The White Witch spells causes the Narnia turned into white and snowy. Sometimes, too much white can be evil too.
The wedding also sometimes be held in white color to reflects the pureness and majesty from the essence of a wedding.
An interior in white describes a safety place to hide and a very peaceful place to think. White also describes a light place to live in.
White architecture looks peaceful and cold. It also looks strong and light.
The white exterior also looks great.
White is one of the neutral color that you can play with. With red, black, or any other bold colors, white will fit in any colors. But always remember the proportion.
We'll see you in another post of Color Therapy!
