Midweek Projects: Opening Soon Part 3

Greetings! ❤
I am so thankful that I've got this far for the project in Azra Hospital in Bogor. Although it's tiring and preoccupy my brain that much, but I am glad I can make it this far.

This week is finalizing all the works for couple weeks ahead. The polycarbonates roof is set and this time, we have the chance to do the surface finishing like concrete coating and set the hexagon mosaic tiles. Still have to fix here and there but most of the works are already done. I am so excited to see the result. As all designers would have known, making a 3D picture into real is very delightful. And I hope my clients are happy with the result.

That's all for today. We'll see you all again soon!

Making a paper artwork for someone else is one of my pleasure since I know the person who receive the gift will smile and remember the good memories from the sender. And I hope I can continue it always.
Happy birthday! ๐Ÿ˜€

Weekend Projects: Coming Soon Projects

Greetings! ๐Ÿ’•
Lately I've been doing my latest projects for commercial space for my dearest friend. It's still on the progress and will be done soon. As soon as it finished, I will share with all of you for the result.

This time I have to make everything from zero. The client prepared only for outdoor location that can be designed beautifully. But since it's a public space full of sick people (read: hospital), we have to extra careful for all the elements we choose to build this. Plus safety for the workers is a must.

We combine four elements of materials: ๐Ÿ‘‰concrete, ๐Ÿ‘‰iron, ๐Ÿ‘‰ceramic, and ๐Ÿ‘‰wood in a Scandinavian style mixed with Industrial concept. The main concept is to make the place clean but also warm by the presents of the materials. Well, how's the result? Let's see it soon! We promise you it's something that will enjoy your eyes and of course will be fun.

That's all for today. We'll see you soon!

Art Journal: Doodles Before Noodles

Greetings! ๐Ÿ’•
It's been a while since my last post about the daily art i make everyday. Sometimes I just don't feel like i'm going to do it. But lately, since I spent most of my times on the construction site doing an interior design (ummm, maybe let;'s call it interior in an outdoor space) project that's still on going, i took my black paper and my Sakura's Gelly Roll Stardust pens in Rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, magenta, plus pink.

Well, wait for no longer!
These are the two doodles I made while waiting on the project's site. All theme in floral, not because I love floral that much, but since the ideas was popped first in my head when started to do the art (yeah, let's call them art. ๐Ÿ˜).

25/11/2016

26/11/2016

The art will continue and so on. I hope I can make something good while spending my times managing all the project's teams at the site.

That's all for today. We'll see you all again soon!

Midweek Projects: My Bedroom, My Style

Greetings!
Well, sometimes the style of your bedroom at least tells a story about your personality. Either you are feminist, romantic, or quirky like the bedroom owner who request us to design a bedroom in a little bit out of the usual layout of a bedroom.

The owner wants an open walk in closet, have a big mirror, and separated side for her and him. So we made this special design based on the owner's personality.

It's a little bit quirky but still well-organized bedroom. Dominantly in white with a little touch of charcoal, turquoise, and yellow for the color accent. Since it's too much boring to play in one tone color, we decided to add more colorful from the outfits the owners' have and the painting as the main view of this room.

We put the bed as the center of the room and as a divider between sleeping area and the outfit  storage area. To add a little privacy, they can turn down the curtain to make the process of changing clothes more comfortable. Each side has a full body mirror.

Not only stopped here, we also add the touch of the blue and white in Moroccan style tiles as the border of the bed area. The color also match the main colors in this room. And we also made the bed board from concrete as the unity with the flooring material.

That's all for today. We'll see you all again soon with what's behind the bed exactly!

Midweek Projects: Cozy Living Room

Greetings!
Inspired by the fireplace, since here in Indonesia we don't need fireplace to get away from cold winter, we've decided to make something different of someone's living room today.

Sometimes you need a refreshment into your living area. It's OK sometimes to look different from the others because different is pretty too.
Fireplace has been in our thought to be designed since a long time ago. But we have no chance to use the idea up until now.

We've designed a fireplace / book shelf in living room. In an informal ambient, we tried to pull the coziness inside and a perfect place to do homework, gathering as a family, and even working at home.

With no sofa, we replaced it with short wooden chair and two pouffe. The pouffe here can be used as coffee table too, and also as foot rest while reading favorite books from the collections.

That's all for today. We'll see you all again soon!

Weekend Projects: Walk In Closet for Her and Him

Greetings!
Have you ever wonder how to separate his clothes from her clothes? Well, somebody needs us to revamp their walk in closet and here we go like this.

For her:

For him:

They want to separate each other's clothes but still in one unity.
While for her is a little bit need more spaces for this and that with all of her various types of clothes, for him, just as simple as hanging or folded.

But their personal area is combined with a bench that has shoes rack for her and for him. This bench is functioned as a place to think what clothes they're going to wear that day (well, maybe. :D) and a seat to wear shoes, or just as a cozy spot to relax.

That's all for today. We'll see you all again soon!

Midweek Projects: New York Style Bedroom

Greetings!
We are enjoying designing a bedroom in New York style. The room is so spacious but we create more space and minimize the furniture so the room still looks spacious enough. The unique thing about this design is a big window that shows the outside view of the house. So we can play with it like a giant live painting.

We put a bench between the mattress and the window, so the owner can work or read a book, or just enjoying the view. This bench also works as a headboard for the mattress. For the side tables, we add book shelves to keep some beautiful books.

For the floor we choose grey tile as dominant flooring here, and we also put some Moroccan tiles to decorate the area surround the mattress. It makes the room not too plain and give a vocal point to the bed area.

And we are not forgetting to put greenery to make the room feel fresher.

That's all from us today. We'll see you all again soon!

Weekend Projects: Industrial Modern Bedroom Design

Greetings!
It's been a while since our last post. We are back again with this week's Weekend Projects from our latest interior project in Bogor, Indonesia.

The client loves modern sleek style match with Industrial look. Although it seems so contradicting each other, but we finally made one that can put the modern sleek and Industrial style at one place. Enjoy!

Below is the view everytime she open her bedroom door. A glam of the bags and shoes display shelf makes a mood booster for the bedroom owner. We added a little comfy bench at the end of the room so there's a little space to sit down and enjoy the room or just welcoming her friends into the bedroom.

Besides the display shelf is her vanity area. Big size mirror with frontal lighting, an organized shelf for her make up tools and stuffs, nail polishes collection display, and see through jewelry collections.

In front of her bed is the entertainment set cabinet. Where she can enjoy the movie, books, and many photos over here. She asked us to make a world map panel so she can put her photo collections from the travelling around the world.

Nest to her bed is the working desk area with a little scrapbook corner for placing the paper, ribbons organizing, and stuffs like stickers that can be hung at the hook we placed on the wall. The book shelf beside the desk is for her binder filing from work which she set up in rainbow colors.

For the bedside lamp, we make a little Industrial style as we use the Mason Jar lamp that we create on our own. And a little wall decor of black butterflies as the vocal point of the bed area.

That's all for this week's Weekend Projects! We'll see you around again soon!
P.S.: we'll be a little bit less posting this month as we have many interior projects in the short time. But we'll be here after a project is done.
Thank you for reading and season's greetings!

Midweek Projects: Industrial Style Home Office & Kitchen Part 2

Greetings!
Welcome back into the Part 2 of HoS design review this week in Midweek Projects. This time we are still review our recent projects: the Industrial style of home office and kitchen.

This time we will reveal the other side of the room.
While last post on Weekend Projects is talking about the part which aims to make beverages and wet area, and also the working area, well, this time we will talk about the cooking area.

>> We have 2 fridge here, the medium one and the large one. The medium one is for keeping the beverages and stuffs cool, while the large one is for keeping the foods cool. For what? We're trying to make everything's clean here.

>> And we separate two working tables as the cooker is in the middle of them. One side of the table is for preparing the foods before it cooked, while the other one is for preparing for the serving of the food. So, no more messy table mixed of oils, dirt, and stuffs.

>> The style is as the same like the other side, except we add mirror as the boundary of the cooking area and we add blank canvas to make an art on the blackboard.
The blackboard is one of the way to make an art because when you are bored hanging the same art every week or every month, you can erase it, and start to make a new one. But don't forget to memorize the old one, keep it, post it on the Instagram, or maybe sell it.

You can work happily if you make the kitchen your sanctuary and your comfort place to work on something. Well, if you do really have a limited space, maybe you can combine the function of two rooms.

We love to combine the kitchen with working area because we can easily grab beverages and foods when you have guests or clients, and we can show off the cooking skill to them. :D

That's all for Midweek Projects today, we'll see you soon with new fresh ideas of interior design inspirations originally made by House of Smichi.
Thank you for reading the post and have a good day! :)

Weekend Projects: Industrial Style Home Office & Kitchen Part 1

Greetings!
Welcome back into another episodes of Weekend Projects on House of Smichi!

This weekend, we have idea how to mix home office with the kitchen while you have a small spaces in home or you just feel kitchen as your sanctuary.

Working from home is really fun because you can control everything: the times, the money you spend, and of course the foods you want to cook. More healthy we guess. But here in Indonesia, working from home identically with freelance occupation, like us designers.

So, enjoy our idea!

Well, in the part one, we reveal the other side of the room. A book shelf, beverages maker table, wet area, and a medium size fridge to keep the cold beverages, and also enough lighting while you're working. This part of the kitchen here is for you to make drinks for the guests or clients that come into the house / office, or for yourself.

It's like you have a dining table/working table as the island at the kitchen. You can prepare the foods there while you can watch the "how to make Aglio E Olio Spaghetti while you're working on stuffs there.

One lucky thing when you have home office near your kitchen is you can bring your clients come and serve them like in restaurants. Don't forget to add big enough table if necessary. You'll need this table if there are more than 1 persons, or you have to spread the work to explain it.

OK! That's all for the part 1. We'll see you on the part 2 this Wednesday on Midweek Projects. Make sure you don't miss the post!

Midweek Project: Moroccan Style Into A Beauty Salon & Spa Part 2

After we shared the Moroccan style in a lobby last weekend in Weekend Project, now we reveal inside the beauty salon.

Midweek Project on House of Smichi this week still belongs to Moroccan style in Beauty Salon & Spa. In the same design concept with last Weekend Project, the beauty salon is designed to be simple, clean, and still looks beautiful and luxurious.

In the dominant colors of blue and white, the beauty salon aims to make the guests feel so comfortable and relax while the stylist do their job to make them beautiful.
We also use frameless mirrors to simplify the shape as we applied the modern touch in the design.

The style is still be continued soon. Stay tuned! Hail to Moroccan style! :)

Weekend Project: Moroccan Style into A Beauty Salon & Spa Part 1

Greetings!
Welcome to a new post of Weekend Project!

What is this post about?
Weekend Project is all about House of Smichi's original works in interior design that we've finally decided to share with all of you. Every twice a week, we create fresh ideas and inspirations in interior design in every style. From east to west, from ethnic to modern. We're gonna explore all the things as our inspirations.

Well, basically we will post our portfolios on Wednesday (midweek) and Sunday (weekend).

Why in twice a week?
Because sometimes once is not enough to apply all those beautiful things into one design. So, we're gonna separated the works into two parts in the same style.

What's the purpose of this post?
Just. To. Have. FUN! As we sharpen our skill to be better everyday and express the feelings about something good.

This week we have a project in Moroccan style for beauty salon and spa. In this part 1, we finished the lobby first before goes into the main area. Mostly, Moroccan style home is designed to be comfort and clean style with colorful cushions. But a little bit touch of modern can simplify the colors.

We choose the cool colors as we represent a fresh and calm ambiance. the aim is that everyone that come here can feel relax and serene as we create soft lighting in some spots. The water and plants are designed to balance the harmony inside the room as to welcome the guests with something fresh and natural.

Since it's a small area, we use mirrors and shiny materials in most of the area of the room. Mirrors can make a small room looks bigger.

That's all for part 1 for Moroccan Style Beauty Salon & Spa. We'll see you again in part 2 this Wednesday only on Midweek Project. New project will be shared next weekend as in Weekend Project.

And don't forget to stay tuned into our daily post on Instagram and the Blog. And for more information and art & design consultation, you can contact sherly@houseofsmichi.com.
We'll see you around soon!
