Cool Places: Saung Angklung Udjo

Greetings!

Yesterday I skipped the Midweek Projects post because I went to Bandung! I got a job to be exact for my friend to take some pictures in Saung Angklung Udjo in Bandung. Yeay!

It's a beautiful place to learn Angklung and some of the Sundanese culture that still be held by the founder of Saung Angklung Udjo. And I can get knowledge about another Indonesian culture that is already known by international public, especially for the Angklung performance.

In here, the children also get lessons about traditional Sundanese dancing, Angklung, and also Sundanese culture. It has an afternoon performance by all of the students in Saung Angklung Udjo.

And also, you can see how the Angklung is made by visiting the Angklung workshop at the back of the place. The Mister there is so friendly to explain  all you want to know about making an Angklung.

Cool Places: Kafe Topi, Organic Cafe in Ubud

Greetings!
Here we are on today's post about Cool Places in the town. This time we are still talk about a cozy place in Ubud, Kafe Topi.

Kafe Topi is located in Nyuh Kuning St., Ubud, Bali, managed by Japanese owner on the next of Sopa Garden. It has a very unique design that is very organic, like the cafe offers for the foods and drinks. Kafe Topi offers not only for vegan but also for everybody. The menu is not as many as usual cafe. We tried the Chicken Gyouza here and taste nice. The service also fast, friendly, and great.

The dining area is made of bamboo that is built like a gazebo inside a garden. The roof is made of dried grass. Sometimes if you're lucky, you can see some cows running on the small path besides the cafe.

Kafe Topi is not big but offers a cozy place to spend the day. The place is separated into 3 areas: the kitchen, group dining area, and some seats at the bamboo gazebo. All the part of the cafe is surrounded by the garden.

Cool Places: Seniman Coffee Studio, Ubud

Greetings!
Cool Places on House of Smichi is back again with another review of hangout and great place to spend the times. And since we are still in Bali for next months, we will review some of the great places around Bali, especially in Ubud.

This time, we're trying the famous coffee shop in town, Seniman Coffee Studio.

Located in Jl. Sriwedari, Ubud, Bali, it's a right place to spend the times in the afternoon and having a chit chat with friends. The place isn't too big enough so they're separated the cafe into two part of  the building that is opposing each other.

So we tried the building in front of the main cafe. The specialties here is the cold beverages, from milk to chocolate. We tried the Soy Milk on Ice and Bali Shot (Kintamani Bali Choco mixed with Almond Milk) and they are sooo delicious and fresh to drink in the middle of the day.

The Cold Brew studio is less crowded, so you can use your times to relax and chill out here. It has a very beautiful industrial concept bar and a unique chair made of plastic that combines with wood to make them sophisticated.

And it has a very nice spot to enjoy your beverages while seeing the activities on the road. Sometimes, when there's a Balinese religious ceremony, you can see Balinese people bring their offerings to the nearest temple.

People at the Seniman Coffee Studio are really friendly and helpful! You can enjoy your time there.

Cool Places: Mad For Garlic, Jakarta

It's time for cool place for you to hang out this weekend! This week we choose Mad For Garlic in Grand Indonesia Mall. A cozy Italian restaurant & bar with great food. 

The interior has a great ambiance too. It represents Italian restaurant in dark color, mix with modern touch.
Enjoy the view!

What I love about the interior is the glass lamp. Looks cool!

Cool Places: Fook Yew at Grand Indonesia Mall, Jakarta

Fun Thursday with House of Smichi today will take you to our list of cool places to hangout and eat around the city. Maybe we can help you to choose the place for your weekend time. So, our cool place this week goes to: Fook Yew!

Fook Yew is located on Grand Indonesia Mall, Jakarta at 3A floor. First time ate here and we're all taken to the Shanghai / Chinese resto across the srreet. They use bright colors and so many Chinese pattern.
Our favorite is the bird cage as the general lighting at the resto.

Cool Places: Starbucks Coffee, Farmers Market, Bogor

Hey, everyone! Welcome to our FUN Thursday!
Here we are in another post about Cool Places we've met. This time is for a small Starbucks Coffee shop in Farmers' Market area, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia.

Starbucks is a very well-known coffee shop and cafe as a place to hangout, meet some friends, meeting with colleagues, or just doing personal work or group. One of the Starbucks stores is really near to our office and it's a small store but we adore this lovely place. 

Mostly, Starbucks store is designed in natural-industrial style. They have warm ambiance from wooden panel, exposed bricks, and soft lighting. But they also have a masculine style to represents the industrial style in darker colors, heavy furniture, and big windows.

And they have a room in glass roof and glass wall. Really looks cool when rainy days.

So, this Starbucks Coffee shop is really got our attention to its design. What do you think?

Cool Places: Nanny's Pavillon on Kuta Beachwalk, Bali

Who says Monday is a mad day? Let's boost your mood by celebrating MondayFest with House of Smichi!
In this blog session, we'll gonna post some cool places to hangout and go each week. And our first post is going to Nanny's Pavillon on Kuta Beachwalk, Bali. And don't miss our Art Project Monday on our Instagram.

Ok, let's begin our MondayFest today!
Designed like a winery mixed with country style, Nanny's Pavillon in Kuta Beachwalk is really interesting from the outside because of the big see-through glass window surround it. With decorations full of wooden furniture and dominantly in brown color, make the restaurant warm and tempting to eat here.

They have cool decorations too. When beers meet barbecue and winery.
