Enjoy My Book Club: Harper and The Scarlet Umbrella

This book I read for the few last days before new year falls to Harper and The Scarlet Umbrella by Cerrie Burnell. It's a very interesting children book I've ever read about a young girl named Harper and her cat, Midnight.

Enough for the romance story for this week, I also love the children story because the book contains purity of a child soul and the innocence of their mind. Sometimes a child's mind amuse me because the simplicity is in their minds and they think everything is beautiful. This book also tells us about the bravery that Harper has in her soul. She didn't think what's the consequences for flying with the Scarlet Umbrella or fight with the Crazy Conductor. I love the good soul in this book.

The plot is so simple but interesting. I love books that describes all things in details, and this book became one of my favorite children books. If you love to clean your soul and reset your mind about a complicated life, this book is recommended for you. It's entertaining but also teach us to be brave for what we believe in and never give up.

Enjoy My Book Club: Red Queen Book 1

Greetings! ❤

My next book list for this month is Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. Well, I think lately I have falling in love in the story of  romance in the kingdom between the Princess and the Prince. Somehow, my book this week answered my thirst for this genre.

I think this book is similar to a modern era of Cinderella story, a poor girl from non-aristocrat group of people that somehow became the main role for silver blood Princess while she is a pure red blood. Story begins when she met the undercovered Prince for the first time. The plots are amuse me and drowns me deep enough to see directly how Mare, the red blood Princess entered the life of two Princes in their kingdom.

This book separate two group of people at first, silver blood and the red blood. Silver blood is a group of people that rules all the country and have special powers like fire and let them burn without feel in pain, spraying water and play with it, and even the power to bulletproof. While the red bloods are the ordinary people with no specialty except working for the resources.

The end of the book also surprises me, although I smell something isn't right at the middle of the book. The younger Prince, Maven, is an interesting person and too nice, but too suspicious about where he must stand. And there's the older Prince, Cal. A typical for a common desirable Prince. And there's Mare, the girl who fill the plot as a modern Cinderella.

The imagination of the author is really amuse me. I love how she describes all the role in the book, the places, and even the beauty of silver bloods power. I love this story not because of the romance, but also the adventure that fills the books so nicely.

Daily Pictures: Wednesday Production

Well, every Wednesday I usually produce one interior design creation from my fresh ideas. These past days, I used to do it after back home from my on going project's site visit.

Although I am so tired, I still do my creation on 3D illustration after supervising at the site. It's my job and I do it based on curiosity and I feel like I have to keep my creative brain working, unless I can't sleep at night that well. It's more tiring.

Usually when I am stuck on ideas, I doodle. It distracts me from upset feelings and cheer me up a bit. So I always have my drawing book near me. I love to draw cartoon characters, I don't know why. It's so entertaining and fun.

My obsession is to draw urban view, but my result always made a distortion view that I am too ashamed to share it with anyone else. I still can't do quick sketch of something. I still can't draw realistic stuffs.

Style It Tuesday: Casual Obsessed

Greetings!

OK, so today I really obsessed to wear anything casual because it's hot and sweaty.

Well, basically most of my days I spent wearing casual clothes that is really comfortable and I can move freely. Especially when I have to visit my on going project's site, comfortable shoes and outfit is a must.

I love anything in T-Shirt and jeans, long, medium, short, whatever it is. And for shoes, I love using sneakers like Classic Converse or this Skechers retro sneakers. Well, in some conditions, the project's site visit requires me to use the safety shoes (well, I love safety boots to be exact. :D).

Most of my T-Shirt is souvenirs that I bought from travelling to remember all the good days. Well, not all my T-Shirts are in a good condition now, but I try to take care of them carefully. And most of my jeans are in the bright colors like washed blue or bright blue jeans.

Daily Pictures: Creativity Begins on Monday

My art & craft desk would be so messy on Monday. I love doing art project on Monday early in the morning.

I always start the first working day of the week with something boost my mood. One of them is making an art project. It keeps my sanity among those smallest details I have to do that make me dizzy all the time. And morning is the time when I feel so awake, body and soul.

Making an art project for MondayFest is one of my activity to varies all the design things I do. I can't stand to do one particular work everytime in my life. I must explore everything that I love to do. And Monday is my favorite day to sharpen my creativity mind. Although Monday sometimes makes me depressed with all the routines that I may not like. But messy desk with art projects makes me alive.

Weekend Projects: Christmas in Your Bedroom

Greetings!

Christmas is around the corner! Yeay! How's your Christmas decor going up?

Well, some of you might not have an enough space to put many decors. Maybe you just have a studio apartment of your own and you still want to make it a Christmas-y ambiance. So, here's my suggestions for you, prepare Christmas tree that suits your room well, a garland, and wreath. You can add Christmas socks if you like.

You can utilize your wall for the decorations. But make sure everything is on its size that fits your space.

And one more thing, don't be afraid to try darker and rare color to fill your space. Either it's for the floor or the wall paint or wallcovering. Make sure you choose one of the interior parts that I mention before to make your space looks nice and fresh for the next year. You can add a quirky wallcovering pattern like, tropical theme or cartoon as long as it fits your dominant color in the room.

And don't forget to always give another part a neutral color in white or light grey if you put dark colors. Just to make it a little bit lighter, not too heavy because of darker color overdose.

This is how my Sunday spent.

Today is a new #photochallenge week. While last week I have to try to capture my breakfast in a nice way and arranged the food in a beautiful way, this time I let you all know what's on my desk and what i do on the next 7 days ahead. I call it #whatido #photochallenge week.

Some of you might wondering what I am doing as an interior designer who runs a design and built interior company. I may be looked walking around the street in daylight, not in the office, and in frequent days, I share with you my art projects and everything i love to do in House of Smichi.

Sunday is my lazy time to make plans, read some books, get some inspirations, listening to my favorite music, watch my favorite movies, and of course, blogging. Although it looks like a lazy Sunday, but that's not right. In Sunday, I pull out all of my creativity brain to plan everything for the whole week ahead. Most of my times will spent in front of my desk, thinking how to make my plans work.

My desk is messy with paper and stuffs. In the afternoon, I take a break to read good books and watch movie. And in the night, I continue to get some inspirations. I love surrounding with the rainbow color pens, colorful paper, unread books, my notebook, and my drawing book. And the picture describes my messy desk best.

Color Therapy: Greenery Overdose

Greetings!

This week Color Therapy session has still celebrated the chosen of Greenery colors as Pantone Color of the Year 2017. Start a new year with fresh mind and soul to do great things ahead!

HoS color scheme of the week has taken from one of the greenery in front of my house. As you can see, inspirations come from anywhere, as long as you want to widen your view.

Now, let's talk about the colors!

This week color scheme is a little bit different from last week's Greenery color scheme. This week we have a full serene color scheme by the lead of bluish green colors. They are (the shades names from left to right):

⇨ Basil

⇨ Pear

⇨ Mint

⇨ Frost

Not all the greenery has the same colors, sometimes they surprise us with another beautiful colors that we can't imagine.

Basically all green has an illustration of growth and fresh ambiance. It defines the rejuvenation and revitalization the best. That's why usually, hospitals use green as one of the dominant color. Green also makes us want to reconnect with the nature to purify our minds and soul so we can have clear mind to set the future.

Let's feel it in some of these pictures I took with the color scheme.

Enjoy My Book Club: Masquerade (Blue Bloods Series Book 2)

Greetings! 

This time I had a chance to read one of one of my favorite book about vampires' world that written in the book so wonderfully. Compared to Twilight Saga, I'd rather reading Blue Bloods series. The romance is so complicated yet interesting and I think it's very romantic. I think this is the best vampires book series.

I don't know why, I always get the chance to read the 2nd book first, while I'm still hunting the other book series. It's a little bit hard although the book published not that long ago. But since there are so many books have been published lately, the Blue Bloods series in my local bookstore seems disappeared. So sad, but I'm not give up. 😀

The story begins when Schuyler van Alen's adventure to find her Grandfather in Venice. The description about Venice is so detail that wows me that much. I always love Venice with its masquerade festival. And how the author, Melissa de la Cruz, creates a plot of mask party in New York that is decorated in such a beautiful way, an old classic decoration.

And the romance between Schuyler van Alen and Jack Force is really complicated but beautiful. I really want to read the rest of the book series so bad. They have a thing but they can't against the destiny that Jack is with Mimi Force for now, I think.

Well, wish me luck to get the other books and read the whole story before I share with you. If you love to read vampires' books besides Twilight Saga, then this book is so recommended for you.

Daily Pictures: Fruits in The Morning

It's my 2nd day of photo challenge for my theme of this week, My Breakfast. Besides I can eat healthy food in the morning, I also can improve my photography skill of food.

Since the sun hasn't come out yet when I captured this photo, I need a lighting help from my desk lamp besides the general lighting in the kitchen (note to self: I need to rearrange the lighting system in my kitchen). Well, I am not a pro photographer, but at least I am going to by learning step by step in the photo challenges that I plan to do it every week.
